Metrological capability is a vital hallmark of a nation’s core competitiveness. As the Made in China 2025 strategy enters a critical phase of implementation, China’s metrology sector has continued to achieve breakthroughs—with a steady stream of basic research outcomes and upgraded institutional innovations, providing crucial support for strategic fields such as advanced manufacturing and quantum technology. Against this backdrop, the 8th China International Metrology Expo will be grandly held at the China International Exhibition Center from May 20 to 22, 2026.
As a flagship event in the global metrology and testing industry, this expo will be held in China’s capital for the first time. Leveraging Beijing’s positioning as an international sci-tech innovation hub, it is committed to building three core platforms:
- A National-Level Technology Exhibition Platform: Showcasing cutting-edge technologies such as advanced metrological instruments and industrial IoT metrology in a concentrated manner.
- A Hub for Industry-University-Research Integration: Featuring the "International Forum on the Development of Metrology and Testing Technology", which facilitates dialogues between academicians, experts and industry leaders.
- A Window for International Dialogue: Attracting metrological institutions from Germany, Japan, the United States and other countries to set up national theme pavilions, and promoting cross-border standard mutual recognition.
